Aloe variegata ‘Ausana’ Partridge breast aloe
Aloe variegata is native to the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, and Free State in South Africa. They are not found in the wild in North America. I cannot find any information on how this Aloe variegata 'Ausana,' a cultivar, differs from its natural counterpart. Identification: Plants are 8-12" (20-30 cm) in height. New, central leaves push older leaves outward in a spiral arrangement. Leaves are dark green, with raised, light green bands, 4-6" (10-15 cm) long. Flowers are orange, on a tall raceme 8-12" (20-30 cm) high. Online References:
