Canna ×generalis ‘Australia’ Canna
Cannas, sometimes called canna lilies although they are not related to lilies, are native to tropical regions of North, Central and South America. This cultivated variety is actually from New Zealand, not Australia. Identification: Plants are 4-6' (1.2-1.8 m) high and up to 30" (76 cm) around. Leaves are long and narrow, pointed at both ends, with parallel veins, and a satiny deep red in color. Flowers are red-orange. Online References:
