About plant names...

These are South African natives, not found in the wild in North America. The genus, Gasteria, meaning stomach, refers to the swollen middles of the tubular flowers.

Identification: Plants are less than 12" (30 cm) high. Leaves are 4-8" (10-20 cm) long and ⅜-¾" (1-2 cm) wide, with rounded tips, spotted with white flecks. Flowers are tubular, with swollen middles.
