Creeping barberry is a low, creeping plant waxy-looking blue berries. It is a North American
native.
Identification: The leaves are sharp-edged and shiny,
sometimes tinged with red or purple as well as dark green, 2-3" (5-7.6 cm) long. They are often mistaken for
holly leaves. The berries are oval-shaped,
sharply tapered at the ends, about ⅜" (9.5 mm) long, with a waxy or powdery-looking coating.
Flowers are yellow.
