About plant names...

This cross of Cochlioda x Odontoglossum x Oncidium is very nearly completely undocumented online. It was formerly called Wilsonara Red Stars ‘Red Rooster’, which, among other things, is a violation of botanical naming standards, even those stretched to include cultivar marketing names. It has since been renamed to Oncidium Red Stars ‘Rooster’, also improperly named. If you know anything about it that is actually significant, let us know so we won’t be reduced to grousing about nomenclature! The Oncidium genus contains about 330 natural orchids, and has spawned innumerable beautiful hybrids popular with orchid enthusiasts.
