About plant names...

Fraser’s photonia is not native to North America. It is a popular landscape plant, though it is susceptible to leaf rot disease.

Plants: Shrubs are evergreen, more or less upright oval in shape, up to 10-18' (3-5.5 m) × 8-12' (2.4-3.7 m).

Leaves: New leaves and stems are bronze to copper to bright red, darkening to a glossy dark green. Leaves are leathery, elliptic to oval, with finely serrated margins, 4-8" (10-20 cm).

Flowers: Flowers are white, ¼" (8.4 mm), in panicles up to 5-6" (12-15 cm) long. They appear in late April, and smell unpleasant.

Fruits: Red berries that persist through the winter.
