Species	cooperi	Named after Dr. James Graham Cooper (1830-1902), geologist of the Geological Survey of California, who collected plants in the Mojave Desert in 1861. He was the son of William Cooper, who was one of the founders of the New York City Museum of Natural History, a friend of John James Audubon, the first American member of the Zoological Society of London, and the person for whom the Cooper’s hawk was named
